Empowering Employees: Unleashing Potential for a Bright Future

In todayā€™s highly competitive industry landscape, a business must recognise that their most valuable asset is their employees, without whom, there would be no community, no buzz, no work, and really, no business at all.

The opportunity for any company to succeed in delivering on its mission and purpose hinges on the passion, skills, and motivation of its employees.

Page & Page as a company has a shared, unified purpose with our employees: to close the gap in healthcare. Closing the gap means enabling and empowering as many people as possible to access, understand and benefit from a demoncratised healthcare system, so that ultimately, they can live their healthiest possible lives. We believe no medicine can truly be at its most effective without effective communication surrounding it, providing medical education, disease awareness and support to implement lasting positive change to healthcare systems. Healthcare professionals, stakeholders, patients and caregivers all deserve to benefit from the power of communication. In fact, weā€™d go as far as to say that communication is the best medicine of all. If youā€™re interested in this perspective, you can read more about it in our whitepaper.

At the heart of our purpose lies the idea that true empowerment is not just giving a person a voice, but also enabling and entrusting them with the freedom to make decisions and pursue initiatives they are passionate about. This philosophy applies to our team members as well; at Page & Page, we donā€™t just give people a voice, we give them an opportunity and a platform to enact change, as we firmly believe that everyone has untapped potential waiting to be explored.

Part of this opportunity for exploration includes empowering our team to pursue initiatives they feel deeply passionate about. Passion projects allow individuals to delve deep into their interests, unleash their creativity, and make a tangible and lasting impact. Whether it’s exploring new technologies, doing altruistic voluntary work, integrating their skills into alternative team specialisms or heading up new centres of excellence within the business, our employees are given the autonomy to shape their own destinies. We have had a number of employees going on volunteering days, both within and outside of the industry. We have had people move laterally into different teams and disciplines based on their interests and strengths and, since the summer of 2022, we have two new and established business offerings developed by passionate staff members: corporate communications and market intelligence. We firmly believe in empowering our staff to achieve the things they dream of, and it gives us great joy to see them take the baton and run with it.

It is often said that the best ideas and the greatest value-adding innovations come about when the going gets tough, when things get serious. But empowerment and growth are not just about serious work; they also thrive in an environment of camaraderie and fun. At Page & Page, we recognise the value of team building activities in supporting collaboration, enhancing inter-departmental communication, and building strong bonds and friendships among colleagues.

Once a quarter, we take our team offsite for a day of adventure, laughter, and shared experiences. These outings not only serve as a refreshing break from the daily grind but also help forge deeper connections, break down barriers, and inspire creative collaboration. The COVID-19 pandemic had a huge impact on peopleā€™s expectations of working life, and people across many industries had to quickly adapt to a new way of working in a socially-distanced world. Weā€™re now in the process of re-learning the best ways of collaborating and co-working in person, and many of us will have experienced the trials and tribulations which have come with it. Will we ever master the art of a seamless start to meetings where some people are in the room while some are dialling in on Teams?

At Page & Page, we embrace individuality. In doing so, we have witnessed remarkable evolutions and transformations amongst our team, both personally and professionally. To hear about some of their success stories, stay tuned in to our company LinkedIn and Instagram.
